34CrAlNi7-10, 1.8550 – Nitriding steel
34CrAlNi7-10, 1.8550, ~15340, ~16347 – Cr-Ni-Al nitriding steel for components that require a high surface hardness and a wear-resistance. Used for cam discs, cams, gear shafts, measuring equipment, injection pump components, valve spools, piston pins, etc. Drawn and rolled bars d 20 mm – d 300 mm in stock. Forged bars and blocks to order.
Nitrided steel is a material alloyed with chromium, nickel and aluminium, which is part of metallurgical production for use in extremely stressed components of machinery and equipment. The emphasis here is on considerable resistance to mechanical wear and tear and for this reason this type of steel is used, for example, for gearbox shafts, piston pins, valve spools, cams and cam discs, active parts of injection pumps and some gauges. 1.8550 steel is most commonly marketed as drawn and rolled bars with diameters between 20 and 300 mm.
